Serving Our Youth

About

Rust Powers Foundation

General Information

The Rust Powers Foundation began in June 2017 to honor the memory of my mother, Ellen K. Rust, who enjoyed sharing her funds with deserving organizations. Shortly before she passed away on April 24, 2017 at the age of 94, she shared that she knew she had little time left to help others. I told her that we would figure out a way for her legacy of helping others to continue.

The Rust Powers Foundation focuses on benefitting local children and youth. The Foundation concentrates on the geographic area of Garland Independent School District and Richardson, Texas to recognize Barbara Rust Powers, an active member of the Garland, Texas community, and Ellen Rust, a longtime resident of Richardson.

The Rust Powers Foundation is registered with the Texas Secretary of State and the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501c3 non profit tax exempt public charity. All contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.

The Rust Powers Foundation hopes to impact the community by fulfilling its mission of improving the wellbeing and education of deserving children and youth.
