The Rust Powers Foundation funds Troop 1199 Eagle Scout Project

Eagle Scout/Youth Service Project Support

The Rust Powers Foundation supports service to the community and supports the development of leadership skills in our youth. Therefore, the Foundation may donate funds to underwrite Eagle Scout or Venturing Summit Award Service Projects from youth in Circle Ten Council’s Duck Creek District—the geographic area of the Garland Independent School District (GISD).

Projects that fulfill the Foundation’s mission of improving the wellbeing and education of deserving children and youth in the GISD area (Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse) or Richardson, Texas would be considered. Please contact Barbara Rust Powers at brpowers@rustpowersfoundation.org.

The first Eagle Scout Service Project supported by the Rust Powers Foundation involved Fernando from Boy Scout Troop 1199, chartered by Buckingham United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas. Fernando provided leadership to 25 youth and adults who logged over 250 volunteer hours to build and erect four picnic tables at Freeman Elementary in Garland.
